Wanna know about my day?

It's Friday. Friday is the day where I drive Mike to work so I can do the weekly grocery shopping and whatever other errands I have to do. So this morning began as usual. Wake up, take Ash to school, feed Bella, get dressed, and drive Mike to work.

I was super excited about my shopping today because there were lots of freebies with my coupons and I just like those kind of grocery shopping trips. Fry's wasn't too crowded and I ended up spending $35 for $180 worth of groceries. Sweet. Next on the lineup was Safeway. I only needed oranges from there (we eat lots of oranges so the trip was warranted). Rad. Next would be Bashas, then Albertsons and lastly Target to get Mike's Christmas Eve PJ's.

Well, I stopped at a light and when it turned green and I pushed in the clutch, it stayed there and wouldn't let me get in gear. Somehow it got in 1st gear and I was able to very slowly crawl to the side of the road. Not so awesome. There was no longer any tension on the clutch pedal. I could push it in, but it stayed there. I think this is what is known as "the clutch going out".

Bella and I got out of the car and walked to a nearby store to call for help (Mike brings my cell to work now so I no longer have a cell phone for use in case of emergencies). I called my Pastors since it was the only phone number I could remember. They drove over and got me and Bella and our groceries and took us home.

Well by this point I'm stressed out. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with a broken car left by the side of the road. That's what men are for. They figure all of that kind of stuff out while we stand by and look pretty.

As I already knew, my Pastors rock! They made some phone calls for me to some guys from church. One guy in particular owns a car fixing shop. So he had a tow truck come and get my car (free!) and bring it to his shop so he can fix it for us. Hopefully this won't cost us too much.

Mike is going to try and find a ride home from work tonight.

But good news, at least it's Friday and nobody needs to be anywhere tomorrow.

Why my husband is awesome

Mike is so great. Seriously. I had been sick for weeks and on Saturday night I was puking my guts out. He is convinced I'm pregnant because of that dream I had many months ago. But that's not the point of this post. Well Saturday night, Mike came home with a bouquet of my favorite flowers, white roses.

He also brought me a very touching card. It's one of those talking cards. But it's what Mike wrote in it that touched my heart so much.

"If I traveled at the speed of light for 5 years, when I got back you would be long dead, but my love for you would not be."

All together now, Awwww!

Hahahaha. He cracks me up.

The Making of the Gingerbread House

As Abby noticed in my last post, the kids have made their Gingerbread house. The only thing I did for them was build it and put the icicles on. They did the decorating themselves. And you know what rocks? They totally know how to use a piping bag, correctly! I was amazed and oh so proud.

Ash does have his hands switched but other than that, excellent pipe-manship!

Check out those drop strings!!! Beautiful, my little man, just beautiful!

He's so cute. This is the face he makes when he's concentrating.

Even little Bella held the bag like a pro.

She just wanted to eat it.

All finished! Good times. I've been sick for like 2 weeks but today is cookie making day, so I gotta suck it up and bake darn-it!

Bella's Sleeping Beauty Cake

Quick post just to show the cake I made for Bella's party. It's kind of sloppy but man it was oh so tasty! Red Velvet cake with Italian Meringue Buttercream.! Yummers!

Yep, she's wearing her Sleeping Beauty dress again. She likes it.

This was the first year where she was actually able to blow out her candles! Yay Mae Mae!!

She just won't stop growing!!

Yesterday we celebrated the birth of the most amazing little girl I have ever known. Little Bella Mae has officially become 1 year older. Now at the wise old age of 4, she told me I shouldn't call her "baby girl" anymore. Sniff, sniff.

We started the morning by letting her open her gifts. This was the year of Sleeping Beauty.

She also got some birthday money from Nana in California! Thanks Mom! Into her savings it went.

She will have a birthday party on Saturday with a "real" birthday cake, but I couldn't let her not have a cake on her actual birthday. This is definitely a sad excuse for a cake though.

I also didn't have any birthday candles in the house so tealight it is!

Yes that is a Sleeping Beauty dress she's wearing. I told you, it's the year of Sleeping Beauty.

Happy Birthday sweet girl!

The Life of a Pumpkin: A mostly wordless post

Does it get any more satisfying? I don't think so.
